“On the Saturday morning after Tracy’s presentation to our team, my cycling group went out for a 50 mile training ride. We completed 49 miles at a healthy 19.0 mph pace and I happened to be in the lead as we turned to home. Typically we use the last mile to ride with low resistance and high cadence to dissipate some of the lactic acid build up in our legs. As I made the turn, an executive who had attended the session (nickname Turbo), rode up, looked me in the eye and yelled “Fight’s On!” as he sped up. Turbo is 23 years younger than me and very fit. While I rode hard to catch him, he beat me by about a half bike length. As I rolled to a stop with my heart about to explode through my chest, I couldn’t help but smile…Tracy’s presentation had inspired the desired behavior.”
